OUR LOCATION
Grogan’s Castle is located in Taveta, Kenya. Taveta is a border town in Kenya which is situate next to the neighbouring country, Tanzania. Grogan’s Castle is also located near the Lake Jipe Gate entrance to Tsavo West National Park. This is a 20 minute drive from the castle and noted for its multiple numbers of elephant which come to Lake Jipe to drink and bathe in its waters alongside multiple hippos and crocodiles.
Other nearby sites to explore are Lake Chala, a crater lake, which you can hike down and swim in its refreshing, crystal clear blue waters.
If a history buff, Salaita Hill (slaughter hill) can be explored. This hill with old World War I fortifications is still in existence and was the site of a brutal battle fought in 1914 between British and German forces which claimed over 3,000 lives.

You can take a drive through the conservancy and view many plains game like bush buck, dik dik, kongoni, zebra, wildebeest and many other animals.
The hotel is accessible by road and also hosts a 1400 meter private airstrip as well as a helipad.
